Scope Ratings calls for comments on its annual update of its General Project Finance Rating Methodology. The update refines the analytical framework for standard recovery rate analysis. The analysis now incorporates assumptions on resolution times and the consideration for the economic value of coupons paid to investors when the project is performing.

The proposed refined recovery rate framework is expected to have a positive rating impact for infrastructure and project finance exposures with long maturity (i.e. 15 years or longer). The refinement is neutral for other exposures.

Scope invites market participants to provide comments on this proposed methodology update by 26 November 2018. Scope will publish the content of any written response in accordance with regulatory requirements, unless the respondent has specifically requested confidentiality.

No outstanding public ratings are affected by the proposed changes in this methodology update.
