Dierk Brandenburg takes over Scope Ratings banks team
As Head of Financial Institutions, Brandenburg will take over the management of Scope’s banks team with immediate effect. He will report directly to Torsten Hinrichs and Guillaume Jolivet, managing directors of Scope Ratings GmbH.
Brandenburg brings more than 25 years of capital markets experience. After working at the Bank for International Settlements and Deutsche Bank, he spent more than 13 years at Fidelity International in London as Director of Research and Financial Institutions Team Leader, among other roles.
The bank ratings team was established six years ago by Theodore and now consists of eight analysts. Brandenburg will continue the team’s focus of expanding ratings coverage, specifically to have ratings on all European financial institutions in the iBoxx indices. Scope currently rates more than 80 European banks and their bonds, with a volume totaling EUR 2.3trn.
Sam Theodore, as Scope’s new Head of Credit Research, will be developing research products for institutional investors and other market participants. Details about Scope’s new credit research formats and expanded content will be announced soon.
